The phrase, “Kindle models”, is a popular search term on the internet for a very good reason – the Amazon Kindle dedicated e-reader is the number one e-reader in the world, and the Kindle Fire has become a very popular family-friendly tablet computer that many people have researched and found to be an excellent value.

The Amazon Kindle was not the first device used to read electronic books, but it has become the most popular. According to Wikipedia, the very first Kindle e-reader was introduced on November 19, 2007, for $399US. It reportedly sold out completely in just five and a half hours! All subsequent Kindle models have been eagerly anticipated and enjoyed brisk sales, as well.

Kindle Models: Kindle Fire Tablets

Amazon’s tablet version of the Kindle, the Kindle Fire, was released on September 28, 2011, at an introductory price of $199. This Kindle had a 7″ touch screen display. A year later, the Kindle Fire was upgraded with a faster processor and more memory while the price was dropped to $159. Today’s Kindle Fire versions sport high definition color displays plus faster processors and even more memory, in both 7″ and 8.9″ form factors.
